A variation of whole cloth quilt

My daughter decorated her daughter’s nursery in flowers with a heavy emphasis on bright pink. I found this lovely morning glories print filled with flowers about 2” across, so I decided to use it as an entire top instead of cutting it up. I used Floriani thread because I liked the shine. The centers of all the flowers are in a very light cream, and each flower is outlined in the color of its border. For the border and binding, I just used a 30 weight discontinued thread I had sitting around. Of course I ran out with 8” left of the binding! Luckily I had some closely matching 40 weight, and I just used two threads of that to finish the feather stitching, I am definitely not showing the back of this! The thread was so slick that I had troubles keeping a consistent tension. Of course it probably didn’t help that I was doing this on my Bernina 440 instead of my Sweet 16, but I was traveling in the RV when I started. Luckily she likes it, and that baby is too young to have an opinion!

Great looking quilt. I love the feather stitching on the binding. I've never seen that done before.

I don't think you should be afraid to show the back. What you did show looks great. Nice choice for this whole clothe quilt

Some fabric just deserves to be used whole, very nice.

This fabric made a lovely baby quilt. Just for clarification, this is not a whole cloth quilt. A whole cloth quilt is one piece of fabric, with no embellishments. It is just stitching (thread) to make the design. I hope that helps clarify the difference between a whole cloth and a single square of fabric with borders.
