any uses for old seam binding?
I have a whole box full of old seam binding - still on the cards - some satin like and some lace. Anybody seen any crafts made out of this stuff? Or know a good use for it?

I save all these kind of things to use with crazy quilts. They can become just the right touch to add to a block.

Satin and lace would make nice children’s hair bows and I like to hand sew them to the clip barrets. Regular cotton seam binding I use for binding on pot holders or edging aprons.

I gave all mine to a friend that makes little dresses for Africa cause she uses them ties.

They make nice bindings for pot holders, mug rugs, placemats..or you can sell them on ebay!

Offer them to local costume shops such as at your community theater. They can use all sorts of notions when making things for productions. I used to make all of our clothes and they were glad to receive old patterns--anything used in making costumes of all sorts.

I had lots of lace seam binding, all colors. I enjoyed sewing it onto plain white squares of fabric. I made different designs, all simple straight lines. They turned out quite interesting.
