where have all the good motors gone?

I have a sad story.
Someone (no names) accidently dropped the motor from my FW 221. He was (very kindly) working on it for me, and when it fell to the concrete floor it landed on the brush holder? (not sure that's the correct name of it) and it broke off. He is going to try to fix it.

Meanwhile, I am searching for a new one.

A Featherweight motor.

I have been to every site listed on the vintage pages here, and all the pages that came up when I tried the search box.
I was hoping to find an original Singer motor, but so far they have all been Singer compatible. Like Alphasew, for instance.

So now, I am hoping someone here can help me with any other resources.

So far, I've tried:

Sew Classic
Nova Montgomery
The Quilt Gal Featherweight Shop
NGOSew
Sewingpartsonline
The Singer Featherweight Shop
Singer Featherweight UK
EBay
Craigslist
Singersewingmachinereplacements
Singer-Featherweight.com
ShopGoodwill
SewVacDirect
Desk Dave's Featherweight Factory
even Amazon

several of these had non Singer motors available... but no Singer ones.
Any other ideas would sure be appreciated!

Fingers crossed....

edit: I did find one at Desk Dave's. Hope it works.

Try Jim Sorrell in OK. You can email him at [email protected]. I bought a featherweight motor from him and I was pleased with what he sent.

221parts.com has always gave me excellent service when ordering parts for my Featherweight.

Ebay usually has the caps and brushes and if you watch long enough you
can find a motor. The Alphasew motor is a good motor and if you replace
the Alphasew info band around the motor with the one from your singer
motor no one can tell you have the Alphasew motor.
