Can/Will you post a link to that video?

I suppose the poster has no skills in either area, buys quilts and covers at the store and eats carry out or goes to restaurants everyday.

Quilting is getting to be a luxury activity with the price of fabric. Thank goodness for my stash. As for cooking, well everyone needs to eat.

Hmmmm . . . when I grew up they were a necessity. With my health issues now, cooking is definitely a necessity. I

I would say cooking is a necessity. How silly to think it's a luxury. Maybe gourmet cooking, but not "garden variety" cooking to feed oneself and family.

Sewing? No longer a necessity, and like Tartan said, affording fabric is getting to be a luxury. But everyone should at least know how to sew a button back on when it falls off! If not, taking it to a tailor is a luxury!

I can understand that. I feel really lucky that I am retired and have the time to devote to quilting and to trying new recipes with more ingredients than I used to use when working. I now have time to bake bread and actually use my slow cooker (which I hardly ever used while working - too much early morning prep!). It does feel like a luxury.

How sad that someone thinks these are luxuries. Yes, they take time but it also takes money to purchase these services. It's a trade off between which is more valuable your time or your money.
