Name of this quilt block?
1 Attachment(s)
Ok, i’m having a brain cramp here... it’s been so long since i finished this quilt top (years) that i dont remember the name of the block!!!
I was going to stalk the web to see how others might quilt the block but then realized i couldnt do that if i didnt have a name! Any ideas on quilting (other than the usual ditch or 1/4” echo on blocks)? |
Ohio Star? I'm not good with my quilt block names, but its a place to start until someone else jumps in.
I love the quilt by the way. I would quilt something gentle/loose in the stars and something more dense in the negative space. |
I'd say Ohio Star has an extra set of triangles in the design.
I'd probably call it Evening Star or I think more people call it Sawtooth Star. But all names are equally valid and you get to call it anything you want. |
The smaller block on the board is a pineapple block, I think.

Yep. I call it sawtooth star. Love it with your plaids and stripes

You guys are the best!!! Thank you so much! I think i only actually made a couple of the blocks myself - the rest i won in an all day quilting event! I would like to finish it for my brother (a retired police officer) and thought the stars reminded me of the star on his badge.

Very nice top.

Saw tooth star. Love the quilt!

Saw Tooth for sure and your brother will be pleased I bet!

The first quilt block I ever made was the Ohio Star and this is not it. This looks like the sawtooth star and the other is a pineapple block. Nice quilt and block
