Do you prewar applique fabrics?

Do you prewash applique fabrics when making a wall hanging you're never going to wash later?

prewash? not smaller pieces and not if it's to be only a hanging or such.

In making your decision, consider this ... while you have no intention of ever washing this ...
... after they hang they do get dirty/dusty ...
There may come a time where you may want to wash it.

I am totally a pre-washer ... fabric comes home and straight to the laundry and
is not allowed to meet its stash-buddies until that pre-washing has been done!

I am also a pre-washer. I wash all my fabric yardage including fat quarters. I do not wash precuts like charm squares, layer cakes or jelly rolls but I don't buy that many precuts.

Okay, better safe than sorry I'll prewash. Thanks.

I am a prewasher of all of my fabrics except small pieces. If I have small pieces of red or any fabrics that I am afraid it will bleed, I just get a small mixing bow and put warm water and a little Dawn and swish it around and rinse then I hang the pieces on a drying rack and when It is slightly damp then I iron the pieces.

I always prewash all fabrics before putting them with my stash. I don't buy precuts.

I prewash also. Some fusible products work better on prewashed fabrics.

I basically believe in prewashing, but honestly, I am not 100% consistent. It really doesn't hurt to wash it - you are safe that way. Just add it to an existing load.
