Nelco sewing machine needles

I have a question... I have Googled but haven't found an answer. I came into some Nelco "Super Polished" system 15x1-11 needles. They look just like all of the needles I have used before. Can they be used in my Brother or Singer sewing machine?

15X1 is generally the standard size for sewing machines today I believe. I can't find anything that says different.

15x1 is the standard needle for your machines and the 11 is the size, yes they will work in your home mahines

they may work for most machines but not necessarily on vintage machines - Old singers take a special size.

130 705H (Schmetz or Bernina)and 15x1 (Singer) and HAx1 (Organ) all have the same configuration. Which means they are the same length from the top of the needle to the top of the eye. The Singer needles are thinner at the top of the shaft, and can fall out of some machines.

Actually, most vintage Singers take a normal needle. Except for the "slant" machines.

The Singer slant machines do take 15x1 as do most domestic machines. It is the 206, 306, 319, 320 that take a different system needle (206x13). The 31 Singer takes a 16x1.
