floor ott lamp broken

The arm on my floor Ott lamp broke. It was hanging down when I came home from my retreat!!
I never really cared for it, but do need to replace it. I have a little one I use on my sewing machine too.
Any suggestions out there that has worked well form my fellow quilters?

Thank you,
Donna for Michigan

I broke mine and my husband took tape and wrapped it around and around in a figure 8 to hold it up where it should be. It's not pretty, since it's white tape on a black lamp, but it works! If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to look at it, I'm just glad he could do that as it wasn't cheap and I really like it!

I bought a Stella table lamp that I got a good deal on. I love it! Best lamp ever and there's no bulb to replace.

Ott lights quit making replacement bulbs for their lamps after a while. I had a bulb burn out in an old one and the "replacement" they sent me didn't really fit and was a different bulb than was in the lamp originally. I was told that they didn't make the original bulb anymore. Luckily my husband is mechanical and very handy and was able to adapt the bulb for the lamp.

I agree, the Stella lights are wonderful!

My eyesight isn't what it once was - and it was never great, lol. Bright lighting makes a huge difference.

Thankfully, I was able to get mine on sale; I bought two of them. One sits next to my sewing machine and the other is clamped to my cutting table.

I do hope that they last longer than my Ott lights did, bc they are pricey.

My Ott is not working either. I bought a Britex on Amazon for a lot less and I love it!

I have switched all my sewing room lamps to LED. Better light for me , they don't get hot, use less electricity and hopefully all the bulbs will last a long time. Haven't had to replace one yet.

What kind of ott light was it?
If you need replacement bulbs for ott lights you can still get most of them at Amazon, WM, lots of other places, including ott light web site:

I've had 2 ott ligt floor lamps and a stella for years. Really like them all. Fingers crossed they carry on...

I too have switched all the lighting in my sewing studio to LED. This room is the brightest room in the entire house. DH thinks it is a bit blinding. I have to keep telling him I am doing close work and need the easy lighting and that the LED is the best overhead lighting I could have asked for.

I just use a floor lamp with 5 LED bulbs. 4 LED bulbs in the ceiling light.

I tried LED bulbs in the ceilings throughout the house, and they flickered so much I had to take them out in rooms where I use the lights a lot. Hubby didn't notice the flickering so much. But he's outside most of the time, and most of the lights inside are always off except in the kitchen and in my diva den.
