301 not feeding straight

301 feeding unstraight. Pulls off to one side. What is going on?

Is this new or has it always been going on? Some machines do pull more than others.

You've already done the basics of cleaning? Sometimes lint can build up.

My 301 is a pretty steady little workhorse with a good 1/4" seam, but on my other machine I put a small fancy kids bandage on the throat plate for my 1/4", the little bump of the bandage helped in addition to the visual of the tape to help keep me on track.

I find my 301s feed dogs get linted up pretty easily, and cleaning between the teeth with a pik is helpful.

A friend's machine was doing the same thing, my machine service guy said that one of the screws for the feed dogs was loose, it's something you can check anyway.

My 221s, 99s, 201s, and 66s have a little knob thing at the top of the machine (above and slightly behind the face plate) which is used to adjust the feed dog pressure, I was having the same problem with one of my machines and tightening this knob eliminated the pulling to one side. You might want to try adjusting the pressure knob if your machine has one.

The 301 does have one and it's exactly where Bonnie says. Its worth a try. I've never had a problem with my 301 pulling unevenly.
