I haven't bought batting for a while and I can't remember if 100 percent W&N batting will result in a "stiffer" quilt than the 80/20 blend. Can someone help me?

the stiffness comes from the density of the quilting. but (I think) a polyester batting will have more loft/poofiness than a full cotton.

For a long time, I thought Warm and Natural was 100% cotton, but it's actually 70% cotton/30% polyester. It's right on the label that's rolled up in the batting.

One reason that quilters like 100% cotton batting, is that it will shrink and make the quilt "crinkle,"like an antique quilt. A batting with a little polyester won't shrink as much.

I like my batting a little thicker, so I've been using Winline 80/20 Comfort Blend, 6 oz, which is double what the regular Comfort Blend is. With a thicker batting, I don't want to quilt too densely.

I agree with LAF2019 that the stiffness comes from the density of the quilting.

I really like Hobbs 80/20 and use it in most of my quilts. I like less "crinkling" in a quilt. In the beginning I used W&N but I felt it was too stiff and not draping the way I wanted it to.

Yes, WN will be stiffer and heavier and the 80/20 will feel lighter and have a better drape.

I love Hobbs Heirloom 80/20.
about the only time I use W&N is when a customer brings it if with their quilt to be quilted.

My first choice is 80/20 but I also use Warm and Natural. Warm and Natural is what I have on hand right now and most places are sold out of batting.
