Orphaned Blocks

1 Attachment(s)
Two years ago, while wandering a flea market I found a table where someone was selling a random stash of sewing things. Stuffed into a ziploc bag were 2 larger units and 8 center units. No extra fabric nothing else. I thought it had possibilities so I made an offer and they came home with me. Well, upon further inspection, I knew why the project was never completed - none of them were the same size. The two larger units were 2" different and the smaller units up to an inch different. I dug them out recently and decided to make the two larger ones into table toppers and this is what I cam up with (they both are identical except for size). Struggling with a choice of fabric for binding (as I had nothing that would remotely match), I found a perfect match in color with this spotted Reproduction fabric - the colors are perfect while the design different enough to make a statement that it was supposed to be that way (lol) .

So creative to work around the size differences and come up with this beauty.

Great save. I would never have known it wasn't meant to go together. Beautiful, I would love it if it came my way.

Looks very nice! - and the binding does look "intentional"!

You are one creative lady! Beautiful save. Don't you wish the original quilter could see the magic you performed!

That is a pretty use for a rescue project. To like the block pattern and fabrics. Well done!
