Slap my hands

Someone should really slap my hands when it comes to buying patterns. PLEASE!! I followed a link on Pinterest for a really wonderful pattern (or so I thought) for a unique to me type of pattern. It shipped out from Germany and I paid $25 for it. Was I insane?? Yes.....for months now it still hangs on the bulletin board looking at me. I've come to the conclusion I will never make it. This is what it looks like....Carousel | Ellie's Quiltplace

What's the most you have ever paid for a pattern?

I’ve paid over $100 for a pattern and templates. The pattern was about $80 of that cost.

LOL I've done that too. I keep my patterns in a binder so they're out of sight and don't make me feel stressed or guilty.

Omg, that's a gorgeous pattern!
I want one by Sue Garman that's $75.00 or so. Not sure if I want to fork out that much. It's called Halo Medallion. Yikes!

I have many friends who drop hundreds for purses, shoes, jewelry, and even perfume. When I buy a quilt pattern I think of how much I am saving for not having to spend much to be happy.

That's a good point, Onebyone! My sister spends hundreds on boots and then complains she has too many LOL

The only ones I've bought that are expensive are the ones that come with papers for paper piecing. I think in the $70-$80 range.

I'm able to figure out a lot of designs by looking at the pictures, so I don't buy a lot of patterns. So when I find something I really like that might be harder to figure out, I don't mind paying the money for it. I also justify it by saying I can afford them while I'm still working, so I'll have them when I retire and might not have as much disposable income.

I need to be slapped up for buying machine embroidery designs. I'm sure I've already got a lot I'll never use.

That's a beautiful pattern, but I can understand your hesitancy to make it.

Why are these patterns costing so much??

That pattern is beautiful!

I think the most I paid for any pattern with the templates was $25 and that was for a DWR. I have used it 6 times so far and will use it again I am sure.
