What do you use paper tape for?

I ordered some paper tape and now don't remember how I wanted to use it.

I'm sure it was on this forum that I read how someone uses it. It was probably the thread about "Stuff you Use for Quilting, that isn't originally for Quilting!!!" but there are 47 pages!

Perhaps someone can shorten my search! Thanks!

If it was different then painter's tape then I don't know a specific use for paper tape. I use painter's tape for dozens of things.

Paper as in adding machine rolls?

It was one of the first articles I saw on Quilting Board and it intrigued me.

I was able to use it twice last year. Once in my round robin project where I made little ribbons, and one in the Bonnie Hunter mystery where I made bigger pieces.

A little piece of it holds the thread end on the spool or bobbin so that you don't end up with tangled thread messes.

I use Nexcare tape on the underside of rulers to keep them from slipping....but mine is not paper tape. It is like scotch tape but it has a bumpy side which is what grips the fabric.

Great idea ... thanks for this new work-around for threads on the loose!

Yes! Great grip on the rulers.

Cool tip - I've got some of that kind, too. I might try this and see if it's as good as Omnigrip. Thank you! :)

To use to hold the cotton ball on your finger after you stick it with the needle? It's medical bandage tape, I have no idea how I'd use it for quilting. Maybe write on it to label the pieces you cut out?

Just watched a video where they were using the paper tape to stabilize the rulers for cutting. Seems like it would work well. It may leave some residue on the ruler if you leave it on long enough. At least it does when used on other stuff. Works fairly well on skin. Wish I had read this before I bought the "official" ruler stuff as that was expensive...
