Double faced pre-quilted fabric
 

I’m looking for pre-quilted fabric to make a designer bag. JoAnn’s website has a selection, but I would like more choices.
Single faced quilted fabric has fabric on one side, and the batting on the back.

I need fabric on both sides with batting inbetween that is already quilted. Does anyone know where I might find this special kind of fabric? Thanks.

I was going to say JoAnn's but today it is anybody's guess. demand is great and supply dwindling. When i cleaned out my sewing room i made up several wheel chair quilts out of that fabric. just added something to each one to go along what what ever fabric design I used for binding. good luck.

If you cannot find a vendor you could make the "pre-quilted" fabric yourself . Choose a front and back fabric and then cut that plus your batting all in same size. Then do a simple cross hatch quilting - or better yet - use a serpentine stitch. I do this for Meals on Wheels placemats. Very quick and easy.

Easy enough to make....just pick two fabrics or a lot of one, put batting in between and do some straight line quilting. I have done that for something in the past. Works fine and you get to chose the fabrics. I made some placemats one year out of the double sided quilted fabric that I had bought at the quilt shop and I was really limited in my choices.

Yes, I’ve made quilted fabric when making a small project, like my fabric boxes, but didn’t want to tackle a yard and a half of fabric.

I've used the pre-made double faced fabric before & I believe it was Fabric.com where I purchased mine. I made a back pack for a graduation gift from it & was very pleased the way it turned out.

You can also fuse the backing fabric onto the quilted fabric OR fuse two pieces of the pre-quilted fabrics together.
