can this be done without accuquilt machine?

Need advice please. I really love the 'Birds of A Feather' applique wall quilt from Accuquilt. I do not have the machine & hope you can provide advise as to doing this with hand cutting the pieces??? I understand accurate cutting is a must but need to know it I'm going to send my self to the time out corner for attempting this. Thoughts? Suggestions? I do not have access to anybody who owns the machine so that isn't an option.
Thank you for your suggestions.

The accuquilt makes everything so much easier..

Thank You Battle axe,
I agree that the machine is a good thing, except it isn't in this persons budget to get one. This fixed income stuff is frustrating!!!
Thanks again.

What is your overall skill at applique? Basically you've just got basic leaves and birds and some branches. The dies make the shapes consistent, but that's all they do.

It is a pattern for the Studio Accuquilt and the dies are cost more for Studio then Go.

People did beautiful applique work before the die cut machines became available.

I agree.
I do applique but won't pay the price of a die cut machine. Take your time and be careful, you can do it.

That quilt uses birds, leaves, flower shapes and tree limbs. Go to Google and search for "bird black and white images". You will find lots of line drawings that you can copy and use as applique shapes. I have done this lots of time when I needed simple shapes for kids quilts.

I have an AccuQuilt (but not one big enough to use these dies) and don’t use it for appliqué because I like turned edge appliqué. Accuquilt cuts the finished size for appliqué pieces. For turned edge appliqué I could only use it to make a template. As others have suggested, you can use the finished quilt as inspiration for your own design.

I have the manual Go. It's been worth the price to me many times over. I use it so much I would replace it in a minute if it broke. I've had it since it was first available to buy I guess about 13 years ago? It's still works like new.
