Patchwork Window Coverings
I saw something cool this AM...patchwork curtains and shades. They're the hottest, new trend. I might makes some for my small dormer windows that can't really accommodate bamboo shades.

Wow, that looks like some old Kaffe Fassett interiors that he did years ago. And I made a jacket like the ones pictures 20 years ago. I'm still making them! I guess I'm just ahead of the trend.

Didn't know I was in style. I just finished making a large curtain for my enclosed back porch with upholestry scraps. Going to line it with a white sheet. We have so much cold air coming in during the winter I thought this might help.

I would do the patchwork curtains ONLY if I had a small window and wanted to use up some of my white/off white material. They just don't "wow" me enough to make full curtains.

I made patchwork curtains for my girls bedroom years ago. I was able to make good use of many of my orphan blocks that way too. I had enough 4" squares to double what I made.

I don't like curtains period! I have some shears in a few windows but that's it.

I like shears also and a valance at the kitchen window. I also have mini blinds at all windows.

Have you ever watched The Last Homely House on youtube? She did this the whole length of the room.
Years ago when HGTV had a message board we did a swap called window quilt. We used the attic window pattern and used outdoor themes in the pane part. I still have and use mine. |
