I have a Singer 7136. It was from my grandma. I do not have a lot information on this machine.
So I like to know in what year this machine was made. I looked it up on https://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mac...sses-500+.html There is only a 7136M in 1982. I do think this machine is older than that. Also I like to know where the M is standing for. What was the machine used for ? How do you place the bobbin in to the machine and it threa properly. I am able to thread the top-thread, but cannot do the bobbin thread. I cannot find the notches. Sometimes I am capable of getting the bobbin thread, but after that I can't make any stitches after turning the wheel five times the machine is jammed. 7136 is not used much on youtube, are there a similair types, where I can look for in video's ? |

Thank you. That has helped so much.
I am now able to sew on this machine. How can I switch between the yellow and the white stitches ? |
There is a manual at https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-se...ng_Machine.pdf It is for a 7110, but it looks like it will work for your machine. It shows how to select pattern on page 27 and then on page 28 it shows how to make the stretch stitches (yellow ones) by using the stitch length knob to have the bar symbol on the dial to the Notch symbol above. It looks like the stretch stitches do not have an adjustable width.

Thank you. Now I see how it works.
I did assume that. 1 till 4 were used for buttonholes. So 1 used for the yellow stitches and 2 till 4 for the buttonholes. I have not tried it yet but I will. |
