Extreme Christmas fabric

I went to Joann,s today and I was shocked to see all the Christmas fabric left. The sales lady told me they got there shipments late because the containers and trucks. I feel so bad for them.

That's probably going to be a challenge to store (unless they mark everything down so quilters do the storing for them!) but at least it won't go bad like so much of the food that's also facing similar delivery challenges. It's tough everywhere. :-(

I think Christmas fabric sells all year. The LQS here keeps it in stock all year and always getting more. in.

Wait till they go 50% off and stock up for a couple of projects for next year. I used clearance Christmas fabric years ago for Christmas gift bags that I am still using. I haven’t bought wrapping paper for years.

what a great idea. So do the recipients give you back the bags? Or you just keep making more?

Our JoAnne’s has been getting Christmas decorating items right up to Christmas. Manager says normally the Easter things arrive now but not seen it. They also have gotten tons of plastic storage and they’re running out of space in the back room. Crazy.

It is certainly crazy. My husband said he has to search all over for certain cat food. He said it has to do with the aluminum cans that are in short supply.
My brother in NY said he couldn't find cream cheese all during the holidays. I had no trouble finding it here. Strange.

I thought Joann's carried Christmas fabric all year?

So far I have been able to get most of my needs and just about all of my wants during this storage, shipping container crisis. I did not do any Christmas shopping in Brick and Mortar stores and have cut my fabric buying to nothing. Other than, again, toilet paper shortages I have not run into any problems. So maybe I will do some looking soon to see what is being done with holiday fabrics, not that I need any.

I am “torn” between buying more Christmas fabric or keep with my plan…I am down to the “numbs” on Christmas fabrics…just a few pieces under 1/4 yard left…last year I made tree skirts, and placemat and fabric ornaments this year I made table runners.

I know I will want more Christmas fabric next and prices will be increased…I am thinking I really need to pick up a “few pieces”

happy shopping

😊

I do paper gift bags for non family members and family members all return their fabric bags.
