Strip tube ruler

I have a triangle ruler and after watching Donna Jordan today use this ruler I am wondering if it has to be a equal lateral rler or can it be on that is not equal on both sides like this one I am showing a picture. I do not want to order that strip tube ruler if I can use this one. Thank you for your thoughts

What pattern? I can tell you that that is not a substitution for the Strip Tube ruler. Is there a specific pattern or tutorial your looking? That would better help us help you.

Yes, it is Simplicity by Cozy quilt design. It is 2 1/2 strips. 2 sewn together with two more sewn together and both sets together and sewn on both sides and then cut with strip set ruler.

How about this one , it is a 45 degree angle ruler?

The strip tube ruler has a much wider base than the one you show and the last pic you posted looks much better. It is 90 dgree ruler.

yes my strip tube ruler is 13 1/2 inches wide at bottom by about 6 1/2 tall.

I have another that says 60 degrees and it is 13 1/2 along the bottom and 12 inches tall.

When I made my strip/string diamond quilt, I didn't have the strip tube ruler and I just used my square ruler instead. I got the idea of how to do this from the MSQC video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOWSp0mTTqE

I didn't find it too difficult at all. FYI - I wasn't making squares. I just made triangles out of three strips to start and then built my diamonds from that. Not sure if that will make a difference for you as I haven't actually looked at the pattern you're making.

The 60 degree ruler will not make HST units with 90 degree corners.

You will get a diamond shape with 60-120-60-120 angles.

Sew a couple of strkps together and see what happens.

If you get the pattern, or have it, I believe that Donna Jordan says on most of the Cozy Quilt Design patterns that she makes a video for, that the pattern has directions on how to do it if you don't have the Strip Tube Ruler as well as if you have one.

Also, with some of the Cozy Quilt patterns that use the Strip Tube ruler, some you place the ruler on the edge of the fabric and some you place on the seam line. Note to say: I love the Cozy Quilt Design patterns and also Donna Jordan's video's.
