Food for thought
Attending my brother's (rip in peace brother) funeral this past week, my niece was talking to me about learning to quilt. My ears perked up as I thought what a perfect person to give some of my quilting books, etc to. We live too far away for me to teach her a little about quilting but I had given her a quilt some years ago and she said that is what peaked her interest in learning to quilt. I thought that was so nice of her to say. Nice to know there are some younger people interested in quilting.

So sorry to hear about your brother. But both you and your niece may find comfort in doing this together via zoom or facebook. What a great opportunity for you to bond with your niece and there are some really great ideas on how to use shirts, t-shirts and ties that are left behind. A t-shirt quilt would be a great way to get her started.

It's great she is has started to learn to quilt and wanted you to know it was because of the quilt you gave her.

Sorry to hear about your brother but excited to hear that your niece is learning to quilt. The gift of the books should help a whole lot.

I've always heard that out of something bad comes something good. This is a perfect example. I second doing some zoom or FB live with her (in addition to the books) to help her along.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother, sending you and your’s healing prayers. Indeed, an act of kindness always has a positive impact, what a wonderful result of the gift of a quilt.
