With many making deviled eggs for the holidays I thought I would put this tip up. Add 2 tablespoons of salt to your water to make your eggs peel easier.

I had tried this before and it did not work. On a cooking show today, they said most people only use a pinch of salt, and that is not enough to do the trick and they got irritated that it didn't work. So I gave it a try and wow!!! those eggs peeled soooooo easy and looked so nice!!! :D:D:D

I always add a tablespoon or so of vinegar to the water and my eggs peel easily, too. I never attributed it to the vinegar, though. I always add the vinegar to hold the egg together if a shell cracks while cooking. I'm going to try the salt, trick, though. Hmm, salt 'n' vinegar eggs!!

After 30 yrs of cooking I finally learned this tip from a co worker last year. She sprinkles salt in water when she boils her eggs and they peel so easy~ Works for me and the eggs are unharmed by my peeling them!!!! Now I know to measure 2Tbsp Thanks ~~

There was a talk show Chef on one of the radio stations I listen to. Use cold water when boiling eggs. Never use warm or hot water. Only leave in the water for 8-10 minutes no more or else your egg will taste chaulky. Take the eggs out and put in ice water for a few minutes. This willl assure your eggs will taste right and peel easier.

If it's good for potato chips :D:D:D

Do the eggs pick up the vinegar flavor if they crack open? Not that it would be a bad thing for deviled eggs or egg salad :D:D:D

I boil eggs all the time. Put eggs in cold water, no salt. Crack and roll the eggs. Rolling loosens the skins and the peels slide off in almost one piece.

I have always left the eggs in the boiling water til it cools and they peel really easy....never had a problem. the rolling works the best

my hubby is a cook and taught me this years ago. once i had no salt and used pam. also put eggs in cold water to start. i roll on a hand towel
