I am somewhat new to quilting (in the last 10 years) and Ihave a thing about velvet. Have made a velvet/satin butterfly quilt, velvet cat quilt and am working on a all velvet crazy. All were king size and hand sewen. I am 71 years old, retired, live alone (well kinda, two dogs and 17 cats).

Okay I am going to attempt to submit pictures of the butterfly quilt, of course Casey cat is helping me type so I don't know how successful this will be.

Thank all of you for your kind comments. These butterflies were quite large, 16 inches or so and appliqued to a bridal satin king size sheet. I made this for my grandaughter for her graduation from college and it took me about two years. I will never ever make anything having to do with satin again. She is now at graduate school in England and wanted to take the quilt with her. I discouraged that as did her mother. I told her if something happened to it, not to look at me with her big eyes as I would never do another one like that. She decided to leave it at her home in Virginia thanfully. I am going to attempt to put in a picture of a small cat quilt, this was just to see if I could do it.
