Can I use quilt batting instead of Polyfil to stuff a pet bed?

Hi...I have a ton of batting scraps from making pet mats for shelters and rescues and wanted to try a round pet bed, if I can find a pattern..lol. Anyway I use batting to stuff cat toys but was wondering if using it to stuff cat beds would work. It certainly would be an answer to my two bags of batting scraps and would save money as I make many flat beds at a time.

Thanks so much.

Are they poly or cotton scraps? I think poly scraps would wash better and stay fluffy longer.

Hi Tartan, they are all poly scraps, thank you.

I have made two cat beds with left over poly batting. Works well, though mine came out a little lumpy. I didn't care since they are for my own cats (who only use then occasionally).

poly doesn't dry well. I make a cover so I can take it off and wash it then put it back on. I have a small dog.
