Early Attic Fabrics
 

Early Attic is my favorite decorating style. I love old furniture, lamps, glassware, knickknacks, and of course fabric. I was fortunate enough to have someone to give me two boxes of fat quarters that look very old fashioned to me... all kinds of littybitty flowers that aren't as common these days. The copyright on some of the fabrics say Peter Pan Fabrics, Inc. I don't remember seeing this fabric brand before. Would anyone know how old it might be?

p.s. I have already taken out a washer load of pink ittybitty flower fabric from these boxes.

Those certainly DO look old-fashioned. Last year my guild had someone put together coordinated fabric packages for each member using up some of the donated fabric stored at the hall. We each supplied a bag with our name on and received a packet of fabric in a style we don't normally use. My bag was full of pink florals. Ugh! But looking at patterns and sewing it up into a nice quilt has given me a new appreciation of the power of florals and maybe even some pink. I imagine you will get some good looking quilts from those boxes.

Peter Pan was popular in the 80's also concord, perhaps the same company, tiny little names in the selveges.
Fat quarters only came into fabor in the 80's also, prior to that we had the remanants bin and off the bolt.

Per "The Google", there were some copyright lawsuits involving Peter Pan Fabrics (as plaintiff) in the late 1950's/early 1960's. Looks like they were owned by Henry Glass & Co.

Some of the fabrics remind me of a box of FQ's I got several years ago on a FB Marketplace seller mistake (she sent the wrong boxes and wouldn't accept returns or issue refunds). I still have most in my attic (I sent Toogie the children's prints for her charity quilts.)

I worked in a fabric store in the late 80's and some of those fabrics/prints look familiar as does the brand Peter Pan. You have an amazing collection of treasures. Enjoy them. What a terrific set of 2.5's they would make for another year's birthday swap wink, wink! ;) I bet you can dedicate them for a beautiful scrappy of your own choice.

What a treasure, and I remember Peter Pan fabrics. If anyone still makes those cloth attic dolls they would love these.

I think I have some/most of those in my stash! Since I make mostly scrappy quilts those older fabrics play well with all the other more newer fabrics. Have fun!

What fun to receive all those fabrics. I believe I have used some of those in the past. Ahhhh memories ☺️

I "see" lots of scrappy quilts in your future.

The colors remind me of my cousin's "civil war" quilts.
