Iron for sewers and quilters

I’m looking for recommendations for an iron that is suitable for sewing and quilting.

panasonic 360
it's cordless and pointy at both ends

I agree with Patrice, its my favorite for pressing blocks. For pressing yardage I use a corded iron.

How heavy is the panasonic 360?

It's strictly a matter of preference. Just about any iron will do the job. Things to consider are whether you intend to use steam frequently, whether you prefer a lightweight or heavier iron, where you do most of your pressing. If you get an expensive iron be sure to read the reviews, and don't expect it to last more than a year or two. (It might, but then you'll be pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed.) Some people buy their irons at a thrift store, on the theory that replacing a $5 iron ever few months is better than replacing a $100 iron every year or two, and that old $5 iron may just outlast the new expensive one.

My favorite iron ever was a Digital Velocity V100, but that model is no longer made, and that iron finally quit getting hot. I really liked my Rowenta, until it quit working after about 6 months, Rowenta's warranty repair shop was horrible and rude, and the replacement iron quit working right after the warranty expired. My decades-old Sunbeam still works great, but I bought a couple of other new irons on sale to keep on hand for when it burns out.

I like my Reliable Maven Steam Iron. It never leaks. Laura Star ironing system is the best of the best for all sewers. For a high temp be sure the iron is 1800 watts.

the iron and charging base together weigh just under 5 pounds.
the iron itself is probably around 2 pounds

for me, the weight is just right

I like my Panasonic 360. Cordless is what I was looking for.
