Snowballing blocks
I have made a number of 12 inch OHIO Star blocks and was wondering if I should snowball the corners as there is so much white in the blocks. The blocks have different flower fabric in the centre and "star points" with a green accent around the centre block and white in the corners. I used three different green fabrics, so my question is -
Do I snowball the block with the same fabric as already in the blocks, or do I use an entirely different fabric for all the blocks? I look forward to hearing your views. Sandra |
Try it on one block but don't cut the bottom of the flippy corner. You will be able to tell if you like it. It sounds to me that it would look nice to be snowballed in the flower fabric. Or if you had 4 greens, you could have four greens meet in the corners. So many options.

welcome! snowballing adds a secondary pattern to the quilt and ups the visual interest considerably! Questions like this is where my working wall earns it's keep ;) lay your blocks out and then pin different options on before you start sewing and cutting. Then you can see if all different corners or all the same corners and big ones or little ones strike your fancy.

What good advice!
