Early Attic Treasures
2 Attachment(s)
A few months ago a friend gave me a bunch of fabric from her late aunt's home. It had been in the attic for eight years, and she saved it right before the house was to be torn down. There was alot of civil-war reproduction fabrics in there. I'm not a big fan of that style of quilt, but decided to make something with it. I named this quilt Early Attic Treasures, and I love how it turned out.

Oh wow! I love this scrappy quilt. Your quilting turns something simple into next level. Are you keeping it?

You made a lovely quilt. It’s interesting how you now love a quilt made with fabrics you would never have chosen yourself. This is what happened to me too. I now love Civil War/reproduction fabric. Good luck in the competition. It’s a blue ribbon winner in my opinion.

Wow! That's really nice. Your color combinations are very original. I love them!

I especially love the border! It completely elevates the quilt.

I’m so glad the fabric was rescued! I was gifted civil war reproduction fabrics that I made a very nice quilt from . I love it and her for sending it to me. I haven’t came across too many fabrics that I dislike. Lol It seems you may have a change of opinion about the ‘style’ you like. Lovely job!

Wonderful quilt.

I like the name you chose for this quilt. Has your friend seen it? It amazes me how beautiful all the fabrics look together. The quilting really makes the quilt shine. What a great rescue of fabric being stored 8 yrs in an attic.

Your use of these varied fabrics is lovely. I was immediately caught by the balance of light and dark in each square but also through the whole quilt. You have guided all of the different fabrics into a soft cohesive group of colors. Of course the quilting and the vine work on the borders is unique and another distinctive feature you added to this piece. A perfectly wonderful use of those attic treasures.
