Is anyone else having a problem making a reply to a thread?

Today l was unable to get the reply to type in the message box. The header ( B bold, I italics, U underline etc) were all pale grey compared to the normal black. I tried logging out , then logging back in, but it made no difference. I seem to be able to post this new thread, though 🤔.

I have been getting that, too, on occasion. I found that if I click on the arrow "go to last post" that it will allow me to Quick Reply. If I try to quote, it won't let me type in the box or even put what I want to quote in, even though the formatting icons are black. I'm thinking it might be my browser, as I am using duckduckgo browser.

I have never been able to get the formatting icons to show up - where do you find them? It doesn't matter if I write iin the Quick Reply box or click on the reply tab. I just get a plain box with no icons or anything.

Even if I 'go advanced' the only Icons I get are that I can click on a choice of putting in a emoticon face.

It's an option that you change in your settings. Go to User CP (user control panel), you should see a menu list on the left. Scroll down to Edit Options. On that page, scroll down to the very bottom, there is a box titled Miscellaneous Options. In the Message Editor Interface, there's an option for "Basic Editor, a simple text box" or "Enhanced Interface - Full CKEditor Editing". You want the Enhanced Interface option. Click "Save changes" at the very bottom and you will be good to go.

Thank you, Peckish! This is nice!

Weird, while I have the " Full CKEditor Editing" I changed to basic and I could quote and it would let me type in. But when I try to quote with Full, it won't insert the quote or let me type in the box. The only way I can reply with the Full is by clicking on going to the last post. Very strange. I think I may have used a different browser when I posted to my monthly posting for the Colorado Get-Together as it would let me reply by using the Red Reply button, rather than clicking on the last post to get to the quick reply, but then when I went to go advanced so I could post pictures, as duckduckgo browser wouldn't let me type in box in the go advanced.

I fixed the problem! I cleared the cookies/ cache in my browser ( chose the 4 week option). First l had to research how, then followed instructions 🙂

Good for you. I'm glad you figured it out what makes it work for you. duckduckgo gets cleaned twice a day and I still have to click on the last post to get the Quick Reply.
