Sashiko machine troubles!
I just spent an afternoon with my friend and her Sashiko machine- thread keeps breaking after a few stitches. (This, after I had spent another afternoon helping her to understand the bobbin insertion- tricky on this machine.) We read the manual carefully, watched a few videos and I believe we did everything correctly to thread it in the right order, but it still wouldn’t work properly - broken thread. Adjusted the tension on the bobbin case so it wasn’t as tight on the thread, no results….She has had it into the shop a few times, after having the store send back her first one because it malfunctioned….. I am not impressed with this Babylock product but welcome other comments that might help my friend. (I am gald I don’t have this machine myself, although I love the Sashiko look…). Please comment with any help you can think of. Thanks so much.

Maybe the thread is the issue. Have you tried different threads?

Peckish is right....I would call the dealer and ask them what type of thread is recommended for this machine.
When you said broken thread, I thought perhaps it is the thread. Let us know if you find out what the problem is. |
I'd love to be of help, but after over 5 years, I've still never used mine!
