Suggestions for fabric
1 Attachment(s)
Oh how I miss Fabric.com! I have 6 yards of this fabric and I am at a loss as to what to do with it! Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

one-block wonder?
use it on the back to make a cool reversible quilt. |
Yes, I think I would agree that it would make a good "after quilt" as Karen Brown calls them. You wouldn't want to cut it up into smaller pieces, so perhaps using it as backing would be good.
|
And by the way, I too miss fabric.com! I bought a lot from them. Wish they were still around.

Oh, that's beautiful! I can see it being a capelet type top, and the bottom tier of a ruffled full length skirt.
...and then use a piece of it in a quilt! |

One Block was my first thought too, but done like they do panels, one piece left whole, the rest arranged around. February and December tablecloths/ runners, etc. shoulder cape for reading in bed. It is beautiful.

I would use it to make a quilted hip length coat to wear with jeans or black pants. Of course you won't use all 6 yards of it, so maybe there is something small you want to use part of it for?

Tall Chick, we all have those fabrics we "just can't cut". Just enjoy looking at it, fondling it, and one day an idea will come to you how to use it. Don't worry about it, remember coin collectors don't spend their coins! Just have it and love it.
I also miss fabric.com, there's lots in the stash from them. |
Very pretty. I love Asian prints. It has maki & nigiri sushi on it. How about a tablecloth & a pretty full apron.
I'd get a variety of metallic threads and decorate the fabric, highlighting bits and pieces of the various images in the print. Maybe even add small, colored glass beads and some metallic beads. Dress up the fabric. Trim the edges with gold upholstery fringe. Vintage Asian/Oriental tablecloths are pretty fancy, it's hard to believe people serve food on them. |
