Batiks

I've never used batiks before and I'm wondering if I can mix batiks and 100% cotton in a quilt top? Hopefully someone has had experience doing this and can advise me.

Thanks

Yes, I do it all the time. Batiks have a tendency to look like tone on tone in quilts. Unless you have a very colorful one that acts like a print. The only thing I do different is I will prewash dark or heavily saturated colors.

Same for me toverly. They are both cotton fabrics and I have no trouble mixing them.

Another yes to mixing fabrics, batiks and quilting cotton. I do it all the time with lovely results. The vibrant colors of batiks thrill my heart.

I love batiks and I don't think I've ever made an ugly quilt using them. I mix them with quilting cotton all the time, but I prewash the really dark batiks just in case the dye runs.

I love mixing batiks with other fabrics, but I do prewash all batiks because I've found they run sometimes.
