Glue pens
 

I am looking for a pen that will lay down as narrow a strip of soluble glue as possible. I want to tack down the end of the seam allowance from the first side of my flying geese units so that when I sew the second seam it won't bunch up where it meets the beginning of the first one. I've been looking at the Sue Daley glue pen. Pictures of that look like it may put down a strip of glue about 1/4 inch wide, and I would like something narrower than that if possible. Suggestions?

You could dot the fabric with a glue pen and get tiny spots of glue down the seam line.

I use Roxanne Glue Baste it. It has a fine applicator.
You could also buy similar applicators on Amazon or maybe
the dollar store and fill it with Elmers Washable School glue.

If you want a very narrow application of glue, using a squeeze bottle with a narrow tip will better serve you then any pen, I think. Here is a set of two narrow tipped glue bottles on Amazon.

What method are you using to make your FG? I use the QIAD 4-at-a-time FG rulers and don't have the problem you're describing.

the sue daily pen is nice, but it's just a narrower stick of glue stick which you could do with any glue stick.

I have special tips for my ELmer's GLue bottle that puts a very thin line of glue wherever I want it to go, then I press as heat will set it and when it gets washed, the glue is gone. Never had any luck with glue sticks and haven't heard of glue pens but they seem to always be coming out with something new these days to keep our interest.

They work best with Elmer's glue sticks and the opening is 1/4in but you can obviously just tilt it to control the width of your glue line. I've never had an issue with Elmer's glue washing out.

I got one of these from Paper Pieces. I find it messy and hard to use. I went back to using EPP sticks. I just buy them on sale.
