Pool Noodles for Quilting?
I don't know who came up with the idea of using pool noodles to sandwich a quilt, but in my book they were a genius. No more crawling around the floor for me. Purchased 3 noodles last summer to try this idea, but it took me until this month to actually follow through. I still spray baste, and pin my sandwich, but it's become so easy that I almost look forward to it, it's been a game changer for me. If you haven't tried it yet just google and watch a video for Pool Noodle Quilting. Buying another set of 3 noodles as soon as I see them in stores.

LGJARN52, I first saw this idea years ago and purchased the 3" x 4'6" pool noodles years ago when I was making a patriotic quilt for my son-in-law that ended up being a VERY LARGE quilt and also purchased a dowel rod to go into the center hole of two pool noodles to make it wide enough and you are absolutely correct, it worked perfectly. I spray basted, but did not use pins at all and what a wonderful, helpful idea that was. I am glad you are sharing this idea with everyone here. :)

I've been noodling for about 2 years. Noodles and Elmers washable school have become 2 of my favorite best friends.

This great!!! I've never seen this. Thank you so very much for posting. I'm actually looking forward to basting now. 😅

Great idea! I bookmarked the video and will give it a try.

Wow! Great video. I tried pool noodles several years ago and they were a disaster. The video I watched didn't have the pinning part and of course, everything was crooked.
Thanks for sharing. bkay |
