New bag for me! (I have notes about pattern...)
I've been sick this past week and a half so I picked a project where if I screwed up my cutting or math, I'd be okay with it. This is overall a really simple Messenger Bag pattern free on the Windham Fabrics site *but* you'd need 1.25 yards of your Main fabric if you cut according to their diagram ( well...maybe my fever was affecting my judgement, I think if you have your selvedges at the left and right, then you can cut all the pieces from 1 yard if you turn the "Bag Outside" pieces but I'd be most comfortable with 1 1/8 yards). I didn't do piping which I think would've looked amAzing but I didn't have any kona pickle on hand. I'd also make my strap loops and strap with a slightly different method rather than making tubes and turning right sides out. I'd probably put the flap in at a different stage too because even though I proceeded as if I was doing Y seams, my inner corners where the flap meets the bag are kinda messy - not a problem for me in day to day use though.
Why did I pick this pattern if I had so many notes? because it shows off a couple big chunks of fabric and doesn't put straps or pockets on top of the main fabric. That was mainly what I wanted.
