Full Fledged or Mini
 

No, not your body type...but your irons! It seems that my mini Clover iron has up and died...lights up but no longer heats. I have a good full fledged large iron, but when pressing seams open it wants to bump up against seams I've already pressed and mess them up. Grrrrrr...
If you use a mini, can you recommend one for me? How long has yours lasted? Looks like I'll be ordering from Amazon tonight!

I have been through too many mini irons to count. I finally found my hero mini iron...the Oliso M3Pro. If you like to have your iron on your active work surface (as opposed to an ironing board) then make sure you get the M3Pro and NOT the M2Pro. The M2Pro has to lay down on a flat surface (the cord connecton is in the way so it cannot stand up) and it simply gets too hot and ruins the surface underneath. I tried many boards, silicone mats, thick wool mats, etc. under the M2Pro and ruined a couple different cutting mats.

I've had my M3Pro for almost 1.5 years with no issues. I LOVE IT. None of my other mini irons lasted more than 6-9 months.

I have both a mini travel iron and a regular iron. My mini iron an Oliso M2 pro (no problems with the cord connection since it swivels to let the iron stand up. Bought it in 2021 and it's still going strong) I keep my mini iron set up near my sewing machine with a wool mat so I can just turn and iron my seams open.

My mini iron is a Conair that is shaped like a regular iron, but small. It has an actual handle. The ones that have a knob that fit into the palm just aren't comfortable for me.

Generally, I use this at retreats. It works for my needs, but does not get as hot as a full size iron.

I found a Black and Decker travel iron with collapsible handle at a yard sale. It's bigger than the mini irons but smaller than a regular iron. I have had it for over ten years now and it's still working fine. Why oh why can't new irons last that long these days!
