Way too many strips!
I have SEVERAL plastic containers, various sizes, "housing" scraps. So, I put on my big girl panties toady and decided to see what treasures are hiding in there. Discovered mostly strips that are 2" wide and various lengths. Some are 2.5" wide but not many. Guess I will be making lots of log cabin quilts or similar blocks. It is true. Scraps do generate more scraps.

way too many strips
Didn't you know that when put into a container, the strips will bred and form lots more strips. That's why they must be used right away or given away. Enjoy your day.

String quilt time! I used up tons of strips several years ago and made the prettiest string quilt

After the fourth string quilt I made I gave the rest away. I only keep enough to be enough now. Enough being how I feel about storing scraps at the time.

After playing with fab strips, I decided to make a braid quilt. Haven't made this pattern for a long time so I shouldn't get TOO bored with it. One side brights and other side a little more subdued. Looking for contrast. Wish me luck!

Currently selling off part of my stash ( what a soothing feeling) and finding all sorts of strips and 2 1/2 squares. Can't decide if I should sell them off also or make one heck of a scrappy quilt again. I'll wait until I'm done going through everything and then decide. Never made a log cabin so that's a possibility. Maybe new scrap quilts for the granddaughters.

I started using left over strips between 2 and 3 inches wide to make kennel quilts for animal shelters, but you could use any scraps to get to the recommended size of 12x18. No binding, minimal quilting.

I have used my strips by sewing them onto a thin muslin fabric and them recutting them into square or other shapes. These make a wonderful crazy quilt design.

Currently on Facebook, there is a mystery QAL called “spring fling with strings,” with Brenda. We are in week 5. You would need to sign up for the “Conquering Mount Scrapmore with Brenda. Or if you have YouTube, type in “spring Fling with strings. Brenda is a scrapper quilt maker. I enjoy watching her. It’s free QAL. She usually has 2-3 QAL’s each year. This is number 2. Bth the strings only need to be 1.0 “ to 2.5” wide. And longer than 4”s. You will be using up some of your larger pieces as well, to cut 4.5” square blocks. It looks really interesting.
