From the scrap tote

2 Attachment(s)
Scrappy quilt made with 1 1/2" strip scraps, and a 2 1/2" middle squares, all from my scrap tote. Many, many scraps are still remaining. No pattern was used, just an idea in my head after checking out Pinterest. I did have to buy backing, but was able to add some scraps to the backing also. Measure about 42"x59" and was quilted with a wavy grid pattern. It will be donated to the East Central Iowa Chapter of Project Linus on Tuesday.

Very pretty. The colors look great together. It looks similar to a log cabin or potato chip quilt.

How pretty, Such a great way to use up those scraps. Well some of them as they often multiply as we try to use them up. LOL

That's a sweet quilt with some really good energy from those bright scraps. :-)

What pretty and colorful scraps! You made a very cute quilt for a good cause, too. I’ve only made one this year for the Royal camp kids but I imagine this winter I’ll catch up.

Very nice scrappy quilt for a great cause.

I just figured out why you can't get rid of scraps. I just cut up tons of scraps to make two quilts. However, when you cut out a 3.5" square out of a scrap, you often end up with two more scraps. They're smaller, but they're still scraps. It seems to be never-ending.

I love the pattern you came up with inspired by Pinterest. It is so cheerful and fun to see all the different fabrics that went into making it. It would make a good eye spy quilt. Some lucky child will love it!

Copycat....there are butterflys, one green frog, two types of small fish, blue birds, ladybugs all scattered throughout the quilt. many of the scraps were bits left over from a quilt I made a few years back for myself..."My Monster Quilt" that was posted here on the board.

Isn't it fun to take a walk down memory lane when using up scraps? Every quilt tells a story for the quilter who makes it.
That's what I love about the quilting process.
