Seeking quilting ideas

1 Attachment(s)
I recently finished this top with HST in an around-the-world setting. Quite pleased with the top, but I wanted to get some ideas on the quilting because I'm afraid of messing this one up. I have a sit down machine and would say my FMQ skills are advanced beginner to intermediate.

Beautiful quilt top! I see so many straight lines and angles, that I want to soften the look with some form of curve quilting design.
I love the serpentine all over quilting design for ease of quilting. Whatever you choose, have fun!

I was going to suggest something curvy as well to soften all of those amazing HST's. Since I only have a domestic machine when I need something curvy my go to has become circles starting in the middle (about 3" diameter) then consecutive circles about an inch larger increasing until the top is covered.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

My very first thought was the same as copycat...beautiful quilt! I just love the color choices! I hope someone can give you some good ideas on quilting it.

Do you have the serpentine stitch on your domestic machine? I would use that and stitch every other row in both directions for a simple way to add curves.

Pretty quilt! I love the colors. I agree with curvy - I might even do a simple meandering. Any fussy quilting might be lost in all those HSTs

I also thought of something curvy to start. With my vision issues and scrappy style, I find it really hard to mark a quilt so I can see it, if I can get away with a grid it helps a lot. There are things I can (and do) freehand, but I don't think I would like what I could do with that top. Sadly, I am quilting challenged in thinking of how some people can elevate a simple quilt by their exquisite design choice... I can make them stick together in the washing machine.

I am another big fan of Serpentine stitch if you have it for a domestic machine. Your workmanship is exquisite! I think "waver" of the serpentine stitch will help with all the many intersections you have and still give easy visual motion.

I like the idea of curves, I'll play around with that. My domestic machine doesn't have a great serpentine stitch but I'll noodle on similar ideas.

Love your quilt! It reminds me of my pixel quilts! My pixels are 3/4"; what size are yours? I use a meander type quilting when quilting those. I recently bought a ruler from amazon that I like. When you get to the end, just twist/turns around and the bottom becomes the top to continue stitching. Template at amazon

I think quilting the Baptist Fan pattern will be really nice.
