Any clear threads out there safe for quilting pot holders?

I'm making a lot of different quilt block pot holders as gifts and would love to use a no-color thread on the dark and white/color/multicolor tops for stitch in the ditch quilting. White is too much of a contrast in the darks and darks are too showy on the whites. Suggestions? Is clear poly or nylon safe to use? Fairly new quilter here so any and all info is much appreciated.

Think I would use light beige or light gray cotton thread. Only colorless thread might be nylon and not good with heat.

What are you using for the padding in your potholder

Supeprior makes Mono-poly which I think is polyester. Maybe check and see about that

Superior poly clear thread will last as long as the potholder's life before being replaced if the potholder is used for its purpose. If too pretty it will probably be used for decoration so nothing to worry about.

Insul-Brite and 100% cotton batting.

I think I'll try the mono-poly...seems like that will work. Thank you for the info.

I think all the clear threads are melt able. I made a poly pot holder for my son and he melted them right away.

Superior's site states that monopoly is heat safe to dryer and medium iron temperatures. Another page on their site states that poly thread melts at 480 degrees F.

It should be OK for a potholder for most things, but not when taking something out of the broiler or baked/roasted at high temperatures (like artisan bread baked in a Dutch oven at 450 - that would be getting close).
