Bobbins in Bulk
 

Has anyone bought Bobbins for their Tl-18qvp machine in bulk? Not finding much that are within a reasonable amount of money. Sorry but $18.99 for "5" Bobbins is ridiculous! [That was on just one Juki site!]

I thought the many 9033NS Metal Bobbins I have that fit on my dearly departed Pfaff 7530 (oh how I wish that machine was still running) would fit. Was going to try them but my research online says that they are not the same even though they appear the exact same size. Didn't want to chance it and damage my machine.

I am looking for about 50 bobbins in bulk price that will fit the Juki TL-18 without it costing me an arm and a leg. Preferably not generic brands (as I have had issues with those on other machines I own) and it needs to be a reputable source. Acceptable price would be less than $1 per bobbin.

I don't know what type bobbins your machine takes, but you might check on Amazon. I bought 100 Cutex brand size M bobbins for $32.50. They work great in my Innova. But that was 7 years ago, so prices may have changed.

Thanks Dunster, that was my first stop. They were between $11.95 to $12.95 for 5 bobbins. I just can't see paying over $2 per bobbin!

Everything Juki is expensive. As a Juki dealer, we got a better price and better shipping if we just bought from Amazon. Dealing with them directly isn't fun.

Are the expensive bobbins you were looking at made of metal or plastic? If metal it would be well worth the price, but not for the plastic ones. I seriously doubt you will find them at $2 a piece unless someone is getting rid of their equiptment and you are lucky enough to be first in line. Sometime you have to let go of the purse strings a bit in my opinion.

I use to have a Brother 1500 and the bobbins are the same, so I have many of those for my Juki.
Have you tried prewound magna glide bobbins? I have less thread issues and the bobbins last almost twice as long as the ones i wind myself. I wind color thread I may need for one time use.

I don't get it. I have not purchased pre-wound bobbins. It doesn't take long to wind them myself. Usually 3 at a time. Looks like you could just spend a day winding. Am I missing something?

My friend's longarm couldn't wind a decent bobbin to save its (or its users) lives! At that point we could pretty easily find L bobbins, but no M in the larger Seattle area. We ordered prewounds from Superior Threads.

It was when I began using So Fine as my thread. We were initially leary of the cardboard bobbins but never had an issue related to that. First with quilting bobbins, then as sewing thread as well. That was a few years ago, Superior changed ownership, I don't know if they have as many specials on trying out bobbins as they used to, but if I/we were buying cones we'd slip in a couple samples at the same time.

Magna glide pre wounds has have no sides just thread wound on the core. I use to think prewounds were a waste of money until I started using them. The cardboard sided bobbins, I take the cardboard off before using in any machine.
