Hi, I'm excited to have found this forum. I learned to quilt from my mom, grandmother, and great aunts when I was a teenager. Life got in the way and now I'd like to get back into it. I inherited a frame from my late mother and am trying to (1) figure out all the nuances of using it and (2) determine who made it. I've scoured the internet and have not found another one just like it yet. I expect to have a lot of questions. All the quilters in my life have passed now. My little teenage brain didn't absorb it all!

Thanks!
Shannon

Well hello neighbor. I'm in metro Atlanta. Welcome aboard.

Hi! I leave it at "Atlanta" for people who are not from around here. Specifically, I'm in Fayetteville, about 30 miles south of ATL.

Welcome from Decatur, the fishbowl of Atlanta (hard to get to any main freeways, LOL).

Welcome aboard, so glad you found us. Is a great place to visit when you need people who understand the desire to cut up perfectly good fabric...

I started quilting (or at least piecing) quite young, when I was still a teenager. It has been my hobby now for (sigh) 50 years!

Not sure on your frame, but that's a lovely piece. I'd be looking at "Amish" makers, judging by the peg and jointed construction. But something like that didn't usually come with much of an instruction manual.

Welcome from Central Mississippi. Your quilting frame is beautiful as is the shot of ya'll quilting with it. If it was made by a corporation,I suspect it would be tagged in some way. I like the Amish maker identification offered by IceBlossom. Do you know if it was bought in Atlanta? Perhaps a call to older local quilt shops asking about quilting frames would get you a good response regarding your beautiful frame.

Is there something about the quilting frame process that you need to know about? We might be able to help with that.
