Quilt show
How do your quilt guilds handle volunteers at quilt show? Does everyone pay for a ticket or do volunteers at the show get in free? Thanks
I would hope that volunteers get to go free on the day they are helping, at a minimum, but it depends on how poor the guild is I suspect.
While admission has been free, "working the show" has always been expected of me as a guild member.
Free admission. Volunteering to hang, fold, take down, record, and watch the quilts is worth free admission. Most I have helped at have a snack/lunch table set up for the volunteers.
I have helped set up/take down, hanging, tea room/cafe service and been a white glove volunteer. About the only thing I haven't done, is be on the admission and raffle tables. Those spots were always left for members with mobility issues. The volunteer gets in free on the day that they are working in my guild.

My guild has a show every year. All members get in free, but we're expected to work at least one day and the set- up time before the show. Most of us that, can work all 3 days. We all benefit from the income, so it is a win-win for us.
I suspect our guild members would rebel if they had to pay to volunteer. Guild members are free but they are expected to work as well. Lunch is provided in the cost of admission to our show but we feed our working members for free.
If you are volunteering at the show you get in free that day. If you help before or after only you pay to get in. Our guild has a substantial amount of money but think they are broke.
My experience so far is for guild members who help with the show to be admitted free.

Volunteers get free admission the day they volunteer.
