Elna Machine unthreading
I have a Pro Quilter's Dream Elna sewing machine,
and I am having trouble with the thread up take coming unthreaded when I am sewing. Any suggestions? Thanks. Mary Ann |
I repaired someone's Kenmore that the thread wouldn't stay in the take-up lever. We used super glue and glued a very small metal washer to the take-up lever's hole. You'd have to thread it through the washer instead of flossing it into the slot.

Having Googled, it looks like that's the Elna-branded Janome 6500 or 6600.

I have the same machine and have had the same problem once in a blue moon, so I can't help you there. Do you use leaders and enders? That might help you.

Quiltedsunshine,
Thanks. Do you know why it might be coming unthreaded though? |
Pocellieagain,
I rarely use leaders and enders. Does that help? It happens just in the middle of sewing. |
mkc, my machine is Pro Quilters Dream Elna 7200.

mary, I use leaders/enders all the time, usually 2 or 2 1/2" squares, then throw them in the drawer and when full, I make a quilt with them. Usually the reason it comes unthreaded is because the top thread is too short, the problem might be that your machine is cutting the top thread to short, it might need to be adjusted.
