Result of a quilting with rulers class
2 Attachment(s)
I've always been intimidated by ruler quilting so for Christmas my husband bought me a class by Angela Walters. The class is free, but then there are the threads, rulers and of course the preprinted panel. Ordinarily I wouldn't quilt this heavily but it sure gave me the practice I needed on my sit down Tiara mid-arm. I purchased the larger panel and the borders so that it was useable as a throw. All you experts, tell me what you think.

very cool! I watched karen Brown do some ruler quilting yesterday, made a lot more sense than I pictured in my mind.

Well I’m not an expert, but it looks fantastic! Good for you! I enjoy watching her videos but never been tempted to sign up 😃

OMG! you are so brave. Great job! I am just starting to use rulers, and there is a lot to pay attention to! I used to use the rulers to draw with washable markers and then stitch, but recently have used them as they were intended.

As I'm in the mood to try my had at ruler work, I'll have to go on youtube and watch all the videos I can on it. I've had the ruler base and foot since I bought my system but never tried my hand at it as my hands tend to shake when you least expect it so stuck with robotic quilting. Lately I've been adding stitch in the ditch around my borders, sashings and even the blocks mostly free hand and yes, the lines are a bit wobbly at best but I keep trying. So you've given me the gumption to go out, watch the videos and practice, practice, practice. Thanks.
