Sewing machine successes!!!

I finally gave up (mainly because it had been years since I worked on a machine) and took my 301 to a shop that someone in my sewing group recommended. He called me the next day and said it was fixed. $60.00 !!!!, cash. I'm so happy with it as it works perfectly again. He worked on the tension and the jib area.

So the next day, I took my 401 in. I had it in the shop previously and it still didn't work well. this guy
did something on it and it works well again. It's still somewhat stiff, but works much better. The hand wheel did not turn easily and it was hesitant to start sewing. $40.00!!!

I think he said he was 88, so who knows how long we will get to enjoy his services. But I want to take my 15-91 and my 201-2 to him before he quits.

I had the same thing happen a few years ago. I lost my OSMG. I asked at one of the quilting bees I go to and got a reference to a guy who is wonderful. His parents owned a sewing machine store and he grew up around it. After his dad died, he went back to the shop to help his mom and realized that he really liked it so after she sold the store, he opened a sewing machine repair shop of his own. Best thing? He's about 50 so likely to be around for a long time. lol

Great prices for repair! Here, just to look at it costs $100, and any parts are added on to that.
