What are you working on today?
 

I enjoy the "What is for dinner?" thread and thought a quilting thread along the same lines would be interesting.
Today, I am working on a set of 4 matching bowl cozies for my "Mother of the Bride" cousin. We got together in my workroom to make gifts for 12, yes 12, bridesmaids, and she mentioned that she would love some. We made kitchen boas, so I used some leftover fabric from that!

I'm at my day job right now but this evening I will be cutting fabric for my current WIP. It's a simple design using only squares; 1 1/2", 2 1/2", and 4 1/2" (1", 2", and 4" finished). Making 2" 4-patches out of the 1" squares. Joining those with 2" squares to make 4" 4-patches. Joining those to 4" squares to make 8" 4-patches as the finished block. Using black, grey, white, and red color scheme. I can't upload the photo on this thread but I put it in the Photos forum a couple of weeks ago. Go check it out.

I'm sewing together my quilt as you go hexies. Almost have the quilt finished. I have a demo to do at Tuesday quilt guild meeting. I need to find something to demo. LOL

Learning FMC. I made some of the stitches too tight to pick out so Im just going to have to accept some imperfect scribbles

Hopefully I'll be piecing a backing together, then slicing off about 23 inches on one vertical side as I don't need that much for the backing, just 85" out of the 108". I'll need the cutoff for the binding, 3.5" border and 4 corner HST for this next quilt pattern I'll be working on called A cog in a Wheel. I'm changing it out a bit along the sides as I didn't think I had enough of the background fabric. I'm also thinking of using what scraps I have leftover from the 8 fabrics to make a flange binding mainly to use up the fabrics. Hate adding more to my scrap bins as they're overloaded now.

I'm going to one of my quilting bees today and will be working on pieced curtains for the bedroom. I'm using a design I found online and making them scrappy so they will go with any of my bed quilts.

At home I'm working on Laura Heine's flag pattern for an America 250 wall hanging.

Yesterday finished piecing 5 little quilts for Project Linus. Just finished glue basting one top. When that dries, quilt, bind, and into the wash.

Today, I am adding the final rows and sashing to a UFO. It is reminiscent of the Sugar and Cream quilt. The 20 main blocks are from the Boom Group but I am sashing and have made 2.5" hourglass blocks for the cornerstones. Just need to add the final two rows and one more sashing. Good Press, trim threads and fold up until I can go searching for a wide back on Monday.

After that, make a 12.5 inch block, pattern of my choice for the next Boom Exchange.

Today I quilted the last donation top that I have on hand. Tomorrow is day guild meeting. I will not be bringing any tops home with me. I have one comfort quilt to finish in the next week because it is time sensitive. But then....we are going on holiday to ITALY for 3 weeks!! I think I'm getting excited!

Finished my two pieces for the day! A three week trip to Italy, GingerK! Wowzers, what an adventure and fun in your future.
