Looking For A Really Great Brownie Recipe

I have had a hankering for brownies lately and not those ones that come from a box and you mix up. I'm thinking of those ones that come from a fine bakery...thick, dense, moist, maybe with frosting. I saw some OK looking ones in the bakery at the grocery store, but they wanted $10 for them and I wasn't about to pay that. (Besides, they were probably stale.) Got any good recipes?

We love brownies. We have a guild member who owns a catering business. She uses a pre mix and uses cream, and melted chocolate in the mix. Adds nuts, toffee bits, or peanut butter chips if wanted. They are delicious. She told me when you can smell the brownies in the oven they are done right then.

I'd like to try any brownie recipes posted here.

I love this one, it is so easy to make, and uses cocoa, which I usually have a lot of.

I don't enjoy cooking, so I like things I can make quickly with little mess, but they have to taste good too. I make brownies from the Ghirardelli mix sold at Costco, but I add about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of chunky peanut butter to the mixture. Mmmm, good.

I've been using this recipe for decades, and I've never had better brownies:

My daughter used premade rolled chocolate chip cookie dough. She flattened it out in a brownie pan and baked. Everyone thought they were blondie brownies and said they were delicious.

My friend makes the best “fudge” type brownies. I do not ask her for the recipe because that would be . . .well, dangerous !
