Does anyone know where I can find a good selection of ombre fabrics? I am specifically looking for purple layers or dark blue.

I love these fabrics but I haven't seen them in any of the stores I shop in. Have you had any luck Googling for the fabric? I did find a great article in one of my magazines on how to make my own Ombre fabric. I put the magazine somewhere safe...which means I can't find it at the moment.

I saw some at Patricia's house of fabrics in East Rochester, NY. I don't see it on their website, but maybe you could contact them through email and work something out. Perhaps you could find who the manufacturer is and find out who handles it in your area.

Just did a quick search and found this site that has some of the type I think you are looking for. Didn't check out the entire site, but maybe....

Also found them at this site, got to the left column and toward the bottom is the search option. Not the best search, but might help:

http://www.quiltshops.com has a search engine for many quilt shops. You could enter ombre or gradient fabric and see what pops up.

I guess I am very picky. I am looking for a specific ombre fabric, similar to Karen Combs' from deep to light purple. I saw it somewhere and it stuck in my mind. Or if all else fails, the same in blue. I have a pattern in mind and am bound and determined to make it.

I understand seeing something and then needing to find just that exact thing again.

Here is the link to Karen Combs online store. Scroll way down and I bet one of these is what you are looking for.

I would suggest you dye your own fabric. It is really easy with Dylon dyes you can get at Walmart or your local quilt shop possibly. Just be sure to wash your white fabric and don't add any dry sheets to it before dyeing. You can control the dye pattern that way.

I would make a terrible mess trying to do this myself. I'll probably get K.C.'s fabric if I can decide which one. I really don't need to make another quilt.
