Hi,
I just join a quilt guild last month in Indiana and now I am looking for some cool recipes to take to quilt guild when we have pitch in meals. Our group meets in the evenings. Thanks and this will be fun for all of us to get some cool new recipes. Karen |
No Bake Cookies
2 cups sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup butter 3 T. cocoa 3 cups quick oats 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup nuts (optional) Mix sugar, milk, butter and cocoa and boil for 1 minute. After it starts to boil mix remaining ingredients. Stir up quickly, then spoon on waxed paper. These are so good! Enjoy! |

One of my woman's club is a French Canadian, and a gourmet
cook. This is one of my favorites of her offerings. This is very good in our present cold, rainy weather, served with hot tea! 1 or 2 Large can of water chestnuts 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of catsup slices of bacon Roll each chestnut with a slice of bacon and fix with wooden tooth pick. Mix sugar and catsup and put over chestnuts in oven proof pan. Bake 350 till catsup is thick, stirring now and then, about 20 or so minutes. Change to new pan. The first one will be gummy. Then cook 10 minutes or more, watching till the catsup mix is thick and the bacon well done. Serve hot. |
A recipe from an old cook book is very good, fast and easy.
One cup ground sausage One cup flour One cup shredded strong yellow cheese. Mix well, form into small balls. Stick each with a wooden toothpick. Bake 350 till brown and steaming, stirring now and then. Serve hot. |
This has always been a hit in my family.
SAUSAGE BALLS 1 ½ CUPS BISQUICK MIX 1 CUP SHREDDED CHEDDAR CHEESE 1 POUND FRESH GROUND PORK SAUSAGE Preheat oven to 350* In a large bowl, mix together bisquick, cheddar cheese and sausage. Roll mixture into walnut sized balls and arrange on an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until completely cooked and browned. Drain and cool on paper towels. |
