I do this about once a month--

Family "Big Pack" of boneless/skinless Chicken Breasts (8 large breast 1/2's) -or- equivalent frozen in the bag from Cosco/Sam's Club
1 Can of Chicken Broth (I use fat free reduced sodium)

Put all this in your slow cooker. Put the slow cooker on Low. Takes about 6 hours, 8 hours if frozen.

While cooking, quilt, quilt, quilt.

Take the finished chicken out and allow to cool. Use some tonight; freeze the rest in 1 quart freezer bags.

I use for:

Chicken Cesear Salad
Chicken Tacos (mix up with taco seasoning mix)
Chicken Salad
Chicken Stir-Fry
Chicken Soup

My husband loves all the home-made stuff I make him, and I love how little time it takes me to make the chicken! It's much cheaper and more flavorful than using the pre-cooked chicken from the grocery store.

I cook chicken the same way. I usually cook 2 or 3 breasts in the crock pot with chicken broth. When it is done I shred it, while I am shredding it put a couple cups of instant rice in the broth ( i dont measure the rice just guess) and let it cook then add the chicken back in with a can of cream of chicken, make some corn bread and eat. My DH loves this he can eat it for days.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing. I will definitely be preparing chicken this way from now on. I'm all about making stuff ahead. :-)

Thanks so much for posting this. I've wondered how to make more moist chicken salad (if that makes sense) rather than justing baking the chicken and I've been wondering how to stockpile some already cooked chicken for other recipes.
:)

Thanks for sharing easy cooking chicken. I cook mine in a large soup pot. Breast, thighs and onions together for good flavor. Shred or chop chicken place in freezer bags, ready for fast meal.
The broth is ready to fix chicken and rice(a Southern meal),tastes great. Broth can be used for soup or chowder.
I'm hungry now.

Add couple pinches of SAGE to chicken or pork while cooking. Don't over add. Adds a nice smooth taste.
